On December 2, 2018 between 9:19 am PDT and 9:37 am PDT, News Monitors experienced an outage for 6 hours, where all users could not use the News Monitors products.
A configuration change at 9:19 am PDT prevented our web infrastructure from communicating with a subset of our database infrastructure. This resulted in a complete loss of functionality until the change was reverted at 9:37 am PDT. We still didn't call the all clear yet.
We are currently hard at work on scoping preventive measures to ensure this doesn't happen in the future and should resolve the issue in the coming 2 hours.
We continuously monitor the status of news-monitors.com and all its related services. If there are any interruptions in service, a note will be posted here. We will also post notices of scheduled downtime on this page.
News Monitors is a distributed platform and during any given incident it is rare for all News Monitors teams to be affected. For this reason, we report our uptime as an average derived from the number of affected users.
If you are experiencing problems connecting to News Monitors and do not see a notice posted, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Follow us on Twitter for status updates.
